Learning B Guitar, Cant Hear it in songs to play it!?

Im about to start learning b guitar I currently have a regular electric guitar and its easy to play by tabs because when you listen to the song you can hear the guitar part and you play what you hear in relation to the tabs. So Im about to invest in a b guitar cause it tickles my fancy. And there are so many b tabs for so many great songs! The only problem is I cant hear the b line when I listen to the song :o so what do I do? Is there someway to make the bline more audible? Is there some trick bass players do? Any help is appreciated!
